Made in the city of Khotan as well as Kashgar and Yarkand, rugs from this area are often called Samarkand rugs. Samarkand rugs feature design of geometric Persian style incorporated with Chinese design elements, due to its close location with Persia and China. The color palette ranges from rich color to soft pastels. Samarkand rugs are well suited for many interior decorating style, both contemporary and traditional style.
