Doris Leslie Blau Midcentury Samarkand Handmade Wool Rug
About the Item
Midcentury Samarkand caramel and brown handmade wool rug.
Size: 6'3" × 11'5" (190 × 347 cm)
This vintage rug bears typical to Samarkand, bold circular medallions with a special rectangular medallion in the middle. The main field is finished with Chinese-styled corner ornaments but it also incorporates Middle-Eastern motifs, such as crosses, rhombuses and flower heads. The series of borders is equally surprising yet it definitely stays in the spirit of the main design. In terms of the color palette, the antique rug relays on Classic solutions, combining caramel background with dark brown shade of the pattern. This versatile and toned composition will without a doubt match a wide variety of interior décors, from Classic to modern. All the more, due to its masterful hand execution of the finest wool in accordance with traditional weaving techniques, the Samarkand rug will serve its owners for generations just as it already has for over 60 years.
Rich in heritage and artistry, this handmade rug exemplifies the high standards of Doris Leslie Blau’s curated pieces. With a wide range of prices, Doris Leslie Blau makes exceptional rugs accessible to collectors and designers alike.
