Fine Antique Early 19th Century Pair of Ninshia Mat Size Rug 2’4” x 2’5”. The generally small rugs of the plateau region, with dragon, tantric and allover patterns. Bright colors. Older are all wool, later with cotton wefts. A few large carpets. Shaggy runners and seating rugs. Large, often monochrome, carpets are now woven in Nepal by Tibetan refugees. Coarse to moderate weaves.
