Rare Old Turkoman Rug

About the Item

Wool embroidery on a wool base, as the first ones dated from the 5th century B.C., found under ground in the frozen "kurgan" in Siberia and now in the Hermitage Museum in Leningrad. The motifs are the same until now. n. 491 - i would remove the fringes applied, useless. I published another one on 1stdibs: look to refer. at the bottom of the page.
