About the Item

This folky accessory rug was inspired by traditional Tibetan motifs of the 20th century. This floral rug embodies a traditional and versatile pattern, both contemporary and timelessly classic. Flowers shown in pink, red, orange, blue, and yellow colored with natural vegetable dyes on a black background. Joseph Carini was inspired by the folky nomadic tradition of Tibet in this design. 5 total were made and are available today. Measuring 3' (W) x 3' (L), it would make a perfect meditation mat or throw rug throw rug at the foot of a bed, or as a perfect versatile accessory bringing grounding color and pattern into any room. Hand knotted with the finest natural hand spun Himalayan wool available. It is rich in organic texture and natural color. Handwoven in our exclusive workshop in Nepal, this hand knotted rug has a dense, organically textured pile, making it highly resilient and durable. Carini’s design philosophy is heavily influenced by historical contexts and nature, merging his graphic and organic design interests with his considerable knowledge of decorative arts, architecture, and industrial design history. His expertise in exotic natural dyes and hand-processed materials has become a cornerstone of his work.
