The smaller vases surrounding the center contain chrysanthemums, which represent long life, and peonies, which represent unparalleled beauty and honor. Sprigs of each of the three flowers adorn the border. The orderly composition in combination with its restrained color based around gorgeous blues and earthy neutrals gives the piece a refined and most elegant sensibility.
