Antique Ningxia Chinese Square Carpet

About the Item

Square carpets are a Ningxia specialty. The subtle tone-on-tone rosette field pattern sets off a micro-landscape cloud wreath medallion, fret corners incorporating swastikas and various styles of paeonies. The deep gold border of this antique northern Chinese carpet alternates paeonies with cartouches.
