Contemporary Asian Silk Colorful Dragon Purple Area Rug Carpet by Joseph Carini
About the Item
In his creation of fine, luxury carpets, Joseph Carini is deeply influenced by Chinese and Asian art. Double Dragon is a modern twist on traditional symbology and composition of that style. Twenty years ago, Carini acquired a beautiful Tibetan runner rug that came out of a monastery. He has since sold this rug and regrettably has not been able to find one quite as good.
Paying homage to this antique carpet that he loved, Carini brings new life to the recreated rug with our quality materials and bespoke production. In Double Dragon, a green and a blue dragon balance each other out on opposing sides, with colorful Tibetan cloud motifs dancing between over a silky purple background.
This hand knotted, silk and wool carpet is shown in 9’1" (W) x 12’1" (L). Its silk field that is soft to the touch and carries a beautiful sheen with ornamentation detailed in wool. The Double Dragon is a fantasy rug of excellently drawn dragons with fun colors that brings the energy of the imperial dragon. This is a rug for people that are not afraid of the rug being with the art and a centerpiece in the room.
Handwoven in our exclusive workshop in Nepal, this high knot count (150 knot) rug exudes character and fine quality. Available in additional and custom colorways and sizes. Also available in other materials and combinations of materials. This fine handmade carpet is silky soft to the touch and has a beautiful sheen. It makes a powerful area rug at the center of a bedroom, living room or any grand space.
