"Flying" Chinese Ideogram Rug Designed by Paola Billi, Yellow Silk and Pink Wool

About the Item

Hand-knotted rug in India with Himalayan wool and cotton viscose using the Tibetan knot technique. The decoration, a Chinese ideogram that means "Flying", was specially designed in italics "crazy" by the teacher Paola Billi of the FeiMo Contemporary Calligraphy school in Florence and is inspired by the style of the Buddhist monk Huasiu lived during the imperial Tang dynasty (618- 907). The sacred art of graphic design, born in China three thousand years ago, is a spiritual journey. Chinese calligraphy is not a decorative art but an ethical commitment of devotion to beauty, pure expression, profound communication, research, originality and style.
