A finely woven Chinese carpet of the type ascribed to the best workshops in Beijing distinguished by an oval format and characterized by a tone-on-tone leaf pattern in off beige-gold colors, framed by a border of stylized dragons with touches of soft blue. Carpets of this type represent the highest quality of workmanship for early 20th century Chinese weavings and is inspired by Imperial Ningxia rugs of the 18th century.
