This vintage Khaden Tibetan rug features a tiger print. This handmade carpet is made of very soft handspun Himalayan wool and is in excellent condition given its age. Featuring a beautiful rich brown with a bold black animal print pattern. Colored with natural vegetable dyes and created using traditional Tibetan knotting techniques circa 1970-80s. Traditionally used as meditation mats in Buddhist prayer rooms. Tiger rugs are usually associated with high Lamas, as the tiger is a symbol of power in Asia. Today, this rug could be used as an accessory to bring an bold pattern to any room. Whether at the foot of a bed or as a runner in a hall, this rug is contemporary and versatile for many interior styles. This antique rug comes from Joseph Carini's Private Reserve Collection. On his travels around the world, Carini has curated a collection of fine and rare vintage textiles and rugs. He is enamored by ancient techniques, natural dyes, and cultural symbology.
