Antique ‘Jail’ Agra Carpet in a Timuri Baluch Design

About the Item

These carpets were woven in the prisons of Agra, India during the latter part of the 19th century. The carpet is of almost square size, the colours are wonderful with a richness and depth. The Carpet is in excellent condition with very slight wear and almost full pile, there is some corrosion to the blacks. The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use.
