Fine Antique Agra Rug 6' x 7'9''. The sandy straw field shows a vertical double repeat of palmette crosses centred on small rosettes and a slightly larger rosette. Small octogrammes with radiating "pins", rough slanted leaves, unusual palmettes and broken dark vinery decorate the field, as a section of a potentially infinite pattern. Red border of petal palmettes including slanted corner palmettes. Ecru reciprocal merlon outer border. Fine weave, cotton foundation. Good condition.
