About the Item
This bold over size wool area rug is a vintage Ziegler style Indian rug woven by hand in the 1990s. The floral design is a traditional Ziegler style woven on a rust-beige background with green and cream accents. The symmetrical floral pattern and colour palette give this rug a distinctive character, sure to instantly enhance any space.
The dancing leaves and petals are spaced out in a series of original arrangements on the handmade carpet, resulting in an attractive collection of motifs that seem to have been strewn about by the wind. This candid scene conveys an almost intimate degree of secrecy as if the viewer has stumbled upon a rare sight in the natural world. These extra-large rugs look beautiful and would stand out as large living room rugs and large bedroom rugs.
Constructed with only the finest hand-spun wool and cotton. The rich and subtle colours in this piece all come from natural dyeing techniques that have been used for generations.
