A 100% pure Mohair pile rug, hand knotted.
Exclusive contemporary style rug, hand-knotted from real pure Mohair.
Our collection of high quality Perfect Plains Designer rugs is made in India by excellent artisans. In order to get an organic look, we specifically looked for women in small villages who can still master the art of hand spinning. This has not been common practice in the rug industry for a number of years. Hand spinning gives the fiber a certain irregularity in the yarn thickness, which is what gives this rug its special look and adds a wonderful shimmer.

Mohair is a material that is sourced by sheering the Mohair Goat. Mohair goats have a long and thin hair, it can be compared with Alpaca or pure Cashmere. Mohair has a light weight and a luster like silk. Due to it´s high price, it is usually only used for luxurious clothing textiles.
Our collection of exclusive Mohair rugs is made uni colored or with motifs / design on request. The photos show close up shots from the pile and structure.
This rug has a fantastic feel, very soft and smooth. We can produce this design in sizes up to 30 x 20 ft on order. Other color combinations are possible. Goes great with Contemporary Modern, Art Deco or Hollywood Regency interior design, but will be an eye catcher in any room, no matter if it is a living room, dining room or bedroom. Interior designers welcome.
