This contemporary 5x8 Dhurrie flat weave is an exciting new entry in Rug & Kilim’s esteemed custom-capable collection. Handwoven in cotton, it’s a modern take on antique and vintage Dhurrie flatweaves by one of the best partner looms in our craft, specifically led by a devoted collector and student of these Dhurries whose collaboration has allowed us to make the most meaningful contribution to the style.
On the Design:
Beige, black and red tones underscore a play of old-world geometric medallions and stripes—a rich play of color and pattern with a bold, yet comfortable look. Keen eyes will further admire the subtle look of abrashed patina and striation within the stripes—an intricate and thoughtful revival of the classic look of Kilims and similar pieces brought to a more livable, modern quality.
