About the Item

Traditional inspired gold green high-low rug by Doris Leslie Blau. Size: 14'8" × 15'0" (447 × 457 cm). This new traditional-inspired rug originates from India and combines two rug making techniques: knotting and high-low. It is an area rug with a nearly perfectly square shape, made of wool and silk of the highest quality, which also afford it a pleasant texture. The main field features an intricate but regular pattern, with a border of evenly spaced palmettes. The color palette plays with the high-low technique used in the carpet’s production. The gold motifs running across the main field and on the border are elevated, providing a texture to the rug’s pattern, and they are also clearly derived from traditional rugs. Showcasing a fusion of tradition and innovation, this modern rug, sourced by Doris Leslie Blau, redefines contemporary luxury. Doris Leslie Blau offers a wide range of prices, including this beautifully crafted modern rug that brings elegance and quality to interiors at an accessible value.

Authentic Indian Botanic Handmade Wool Rug Size: 13'8" × 16'1" (416 × 490 cm) This early 20th century antique Indian rug features a subtle all-over trellis design of split-leaf tendrils in inky blue against a pale beige field. The overall effect makes for a soft, muted patina characteristic of oriental north Indian rugs. The production of antique Indian rugs and carpets dates from the Mughal period of the late 1520s. Beginning with the conquest of Northern India by Babur, weaving workshops developed around the imperial cities of Agra, Fathpur and Lahore. Akbar the Great and his successors sponsored and encouraged the weaving of splendid Indian versions of classic Persian floral, garden and hunting antique...
