About the Item

Handwoven in wool and originating from Morocco circa 1950-1960, this 3x8 vintage runner rug is a rare and among the most exciting new additions to Rug & Kilim’s mid-century curations from the region. On the Design: This vintage tribal runner achieves exceptional design sophistication where the primary diamond lattice pattern creates a continuous network across the neutral field, each cell functioning as an independent design element while contributing to the overarching design. The most compelling aspect emerges in the lower third, which features sage green, deep navy, and coral accents that transform the design from monochromatic into a dynamic visual narrative. Each diamond cell contains distinct internal patterning—some featuring concentric squares, others displaying stepped formations or cross motifs—creating a textile encyclopedia of tribal symbolic vocabulary. Condition: This vintage Moroccan runner rug further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
