Medium Nobsa Rug by Sebastian Herkner

About the Item

Medium Nobsa rug by Sebastian Herkner Materials: 100% natural virgin wool. Technique: Hand-woven in Colombia. Dimensions: W 274 x L 190 cm Available in colors: grey/ grey/ cream, grey/ ochre/ cream, red/ ochre/ cream, blue/ mint/ cream, rose/ ochre, green/ naranja, grey/ brown, green/ ochre, grey/ beige. The Nobsa Rug, available in three sizes, is a graphic design by Sebastian Herkner, featuring gentle color-blocking to create a multi-dimensional effect. The designer was inspired by the patterns of the plastic bags in which Colombian farmers carry their potatoes. By combining colors of similar shade and different weaving techniques, an intriguing pattern is assembled that adds texture and interest to any room. The Nobsa collection also includes cushions with matching patterns. The rug is hand-woven and manufactured in a small family business based in the Colombian city of Nobsa. It takes three days to dye and prepares the wool fibers and an additional eight days to weave the rug. German designer Sebastian Herkner is a long-term collaborator of Ames and has visited Colombia multiple times to experience the country’s cities, nature and people first hand. He also visited many of the ateliers that Ames has partnered with to learn about the unique traditional crafts of Colombia's regions. A sought-after contemporary designer and recipient of many industry awards, he has worked with many international design brands, creating intriguing pieces that showcase his intuition for interesting material, color, and texture combinations.
