Room Size American Hooked Rug with Soft Colors

About the Item

Following the fashion in the U.S.A. for French Aubusson and Savonnerie carpets at the turn of the previous century, workshops were commissioned to weave hooked rugs in this style. This example follows this style quite precisely and is distinguished by a very pleasing palette consisting of an aqua blue-green background punctuated by a medium brown for the outer garland as well as other pastel shades.
