About the Item

Woven in 1893 (date woven into the field) in the Armenian region of Karabagh in southern Caucuses. All-over tree pattern with small animals such as goats and birds. Brown background with borders of soft rust, and soft blue and blue green. This rug has a strong abrash dominant on one end. Hand knotted wool construction.
