19th Century Persian Kurdish Bidjar Runner

About the Item

Vintage Persian Bidjar runner circa the 4th quarter of the 19th century. The allover paisley pattern is set in a light cream color field. The border in brick color contains leaf design in red, green, blue, pink colorsThe field is in ivory which is extremely desirable with flower heads which is considered a variation of the paisley pattern. The major border is in navy background with colorful geometric square designs with brilliant colors including green, red, brown and more. 19th Century Kurdish Bidjar runner in an allover “Mina Khani” rosettes pattern. The wonderful small runner has a beautiful combination of colorful flowers throughout. The abrash blue color in the main field shows the traditional way the village weavers dyed the wool. These natural colors gradually change over time to result in this beautiful effect. 19th Century Kurdish Bidjar Runner

A vintage Kurdish Bidjar runner in a geometric medallion pattern set on an abrash terracotta red field color from the late 1900s. There are five medallions in the field connected via a line ending in a smaller medallion on each end. The border consists of three narrow borders one in French Blue, the other in brown and the last one in pale yellow or ivory. Interesting and very charming design items include small animal and human forms throughout the field and the borders. The rug is also dated 1329 in the Islamic calendar which corresponds to 1911. A wonderful rug that brings beauty and heritage to any space it is displayed on.
