Breathtaking Early 20th Century Lori, Nomadic Persian Rug 5' x 9' Astonishing tribal rug woven by the ancient Persian nomads, the Lores. With history that dates back to ancient Mesopotamia, the Lores are one of the very first rug weaving tribes. Their geometric designs and excellent use of color make their pieces easy to recognize, and are cherished by collectors and interior designers. These sharp looking rugs are rich in heritage. Pieces like these are irreplaceable and absolute treasures. Comprised entirely of beautiful Persian wool that was raised, sheared, dyed, spun, and woven by a member of the Lore tribe many years ago. Due to their long history in weaving, Lori weavers utilize an ancient and refined technique for weaving that contributes to the beauty and lasting quality of their works. This tribal treasure is a joy to behold. The radiant wool in this piece makes it shimmer and glisten in the light, revealing various shades of orange, gold and rust, all balanced against navy so deep it appears black. Its simple color pallet and geometric design make this piece incredibly versatile. It goes well with any floor or on any wall, and can be paired with both antique and modern decor. Incredibly after 100 years this design still attracts many, it truly is a timeless rug. Even though this rug is 100 years of age it is still in great condition. The pile is low in some spots, but is overall fairly even. Because it has been around so long it does have some scattered repair, but they are hardly noticeable and is to be expected at this age. Even so, this piece will continue to be functional and look beautiful for another 100 years to come. This piece, like the rest of our collection, was hand-picked by Persian Rug expert and Shiraz native, Jason Dadras. Each piece was acquired through the relationships he forged around the world. Our rugs are ethically sourced and have been legally imported.
