This distressed vintage Persian rug makes a statement with its saturated violet-purple color scheme and graphic skull design. The hand knotted wool skull rug was made through a process of distressing and over-dyeing, with the artist then carving away the design from the pile of the rug. The original floral motifs of the rug peek through the deep violet purple colored dye and it has been deliberately aged, creating a multifaceted and Industrial style rug. It has a large skull done in profile to the centre of the field rendered with organic brushstroke-like movements. This vintage Persian rug offers an eccentric composition with a high level of decorative appeal.
