About the Item

72392 late 19th century antique Persian Bijar runner, Tribal style Hallway runner. This late 19th century antique Persian Bijar runner features an all-over Herati pattern spread across an abrashed field. The classic Herati pattern, also known as the Mahi or Fish pattern, is amongst the most widespread and well known of all Persian designs, consisting of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. Stylized foliate designs decorate a primary border while two wide guard borders and multiple guard bands create a frame. With a rich, warm colors and well-balanced symmetry, this antique Persian runner would bring a sense of vivacity and sophistication to nearly any space. Perfect for an extra-long hallway, corridor, stair tread, grand foyer, designer entryway, vestibule, hotel lobby walkway, and kitchen, or it would make a lovely accent in a state room, great room, drawing room, bedroom, private library, studio, lounge area, or loft. Well-suited for a wide range of interior styles: Manor House, Tudor, Victorian, Elizabethan, Traditional, Queen Anne, Eastlake, Aesthetic Movement, Artisan, Bungalow, Arts & Crafts, Craftsman, Industrial, Rustic, Lodge, Cabin, Eclectic, Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Contemporary, Cottage, Edwardian, and Old World style.
