About the Item
This stunning piece is a hand-knotted Persian Gabbeh rug. Gabbeh rugs are a variety of Persian hand knotted carpets which mostly are made by nomadic Qashqai tribes in southern Iran (Shiraz). This unique piece has created from high quality hand spun wool pile and wool foundation. The colors are rich red, cream, green and blue and the dye used in this rug is veggie dye. The design is this rug is geometric motifs with an unusual border design. It is interesting to know that by tradition most Gabbeh rugs are woven by women and some patterns are passed down through generations. Even though Gabbeh rugs have simpler design but they are full of artistic character, durability and uniqueness of style. The size is 8 feet 5 inches wide by 9 feet 11 inches tall. This is NEW rug. It is important to note that in different light settings of the house, the rug may seem slightly lighter or darker.
