About the Item
Geometric patterns infused with a tribal color motif make this antique Persian rug desirable for any space. Its foundation is made from the finest quality wool which has allowed it to keep its pristine condition despite being close to a century old. This fabulous handwoven gem is ideal for runner rugs in hallways, bedrooms, and small spaces.
Sarab or Serab is a small village situated in Northwest Iran where a tribe of weavers specialized in handcrafting rugs with geometric and artistic designs. Unlike other rug-making centers in ancient Persia, Serab was isolated from the influence of the booming rug commerce because of its remote location high up in the mountains. This allowed Sarab weavers to dictate and keep their own style which made Serab rugs even more desirable.
