Vintage Persian Qashqai(Ghashghai) tribal carpet from Southwestern Persia circa the mid 1900s. The Qashqai rug has a traditional tribal design format which includes one central medallion and four small medallions in the corner spandrels. It has a red field color with a central medallion in dark blue. The corner spandrels design shows a small medallion in ivory. The Qashqai tribes use vegetable dyes (except the orange color) with all wool material in their weavings.
Dimensions: 5’ 8” x 8’ 2”
Date of Manufacture: 3rd Quarter of the 1900s
Place of Origin: Persia
Material: Wool pile on a wool foundation with vegetable dyes
Condition: Wear consistent with age and use
