With only 30 women still practising this rare, ancient craft, each piece is made-to-order and is a unique 1-of-1 work of art. The artisans selected to produce these pieces are some of Europe’s most superior artisans, known for their skill and precision, and their distinguished heritage in weaving rugs for Europe's most high-profile and royal establishments. As an exclusive, state of the art piece, the rug is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Rankin Rugs
RANKIN EDITIONS is the London-based design studio of AMBER RANKIN (Fine Art, Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford). Known for her handknotted collector rugs and sculptural furniture pieces, she practices at the intersection of fine art, design and culture, exploring material identity and aesthetics of the everyday, focusing on form and materiality within contemporary decorative art and collectible design. Each piece is handcrafted and made-to-order, collaborating with artisans and prestigious workshops across Europe, through combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. All rugs are exclusively handknotted in a small family-run workshop in Bulgaria by Europe's last remaining artisans practising traditional handknotting. All pieces are created on original wooden looms from locally-sourced wool, applying a traditional hand-knotting technique dating back hundreds years. RANKIN's collectible design objects are handcrafted by select craftsmen and Royal Warrant workshops in London.
