A new generation yarn was selected for the "O Sole Mio" rug; it has been developed to resist wear and tear, fading in sunlight, damage by atmospheric agents and bacterial contamination. The yarn has been woven on traditional looms to achieve a product with properties only possible with skilled handcrafting: firmness, solidity, elasticity, optimal versatility.
"O Sole Mio" rug is suitable for use indoors, outdoors and in wellness facilities; it is delightful to touch and is an aesthetic feast for the eyes.
The new yarn has increased resistance to wear and tear and the asymmetric textural grooves in the weave resemble the naturally irregular bark of a tree.

About the designer:
Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer.
For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
Deanna Comellini was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women by Forbes Italy in 2022.
