About the Item
Hand-woven wool rug-arazzo, its design, c in shades of light blue, depicts stylized birds and flowers. In the lower right corner are the designer's initials, NE Nemeth Eva. 1970ties.
Éva Németh (1930-2019) was a Hungarian textile designer, best known for carpets and tapestries. He studied at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. During the 1970s and 1980s she won textile design awards and was featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Budapest and other European cities. Many of his works feature animal motifs such as birds. His designs were produced by the Ziola company in Hungary and were mainly sold in Scandinavia, especially in Copenhagen.
