Scandinavian-style rug by Samit Borgosesia, Italy, 1970s
About the Item
A carpet 182 cm. in diameter, worked in Scandinavian style, the background is in a soft beige, a choice that enhances the softness of the pure New Zealand wool of which it is made. In the center of the carpet is a large green pinwheel, composed of two harmoniously blending shades of green. This pinwheel is surrounded by a pattern inspired by the sun's rays, made in various shades of brown, from the lightest to the darkest, creating an effect of depth and movement.
Made entirely in Italy in the 1970s by the "SAMIT" carpet company in Borgosesia, founded in 1927.
Machined with a diameter of 182 cm.
