This is a magnificent set of two Venetian armchairs lacquered in light green with a fine polychrome little flowers decoration.
The pieces have a delicate and refined drawing of polychrome floral garlands on the green background that enhances the sophisticated linear structure, all this makes these green lacquered armchairs two unmistakable pieces of the most exquisite Venetian Rococo.
The set showcases a fine elegance and the exquisite craftmanships of the Venetian master cabinetmakers
It is undoubtedly the result of extreme high level of craftsmanship, the harmonious alternation of curves and counter-curvesn and the fine and tapered legs.
These armchairs can give grace and timeless beauty in every home.
The pieces are coming out from the property of noble Marcello family of Venezia, from one of his villas, Cà Marcello located in the countryside near Venezia.
One of the distinctive characteristics of Venetian Baroque and Rococo furniture is the skilful use of lacquers. Lacquer is a natural resin that was very rare in the past, imported from the East and used to create smooth and colored surfaces on furniture, ready to be finely decorated with refined floral designs or exotic animals.
Venetian artisans became masters in lacquer processing which required time and patience because it was made with many steps.
The Venetian style deeply influenced furniture design throughout Europe, but none reached the Venetian level in terms of beauty. The skillful use of lacquer and carvings defined Venice's unique style during the Rococo period, its Golden Age.
The pieces are in very good state of maintenance and they are guaranteed original in every parts. The surface was only cleaned not restored and it is original.
