About

A very handsome George I walnut open armchair with scalloped curved crest rail with centered anthemion, crowning the shaped splat accented by small volute detailing and flanked by conforming stiles, the flat and outwardly oriented shaped arms terminating in shepherd's crook handholds, bolstered by undulating supports flanking the needle-point upholstered drop-in seat, the plain seat rail promulgating shell and bellflower headed cabriole legs ending in pad feet. The chair is a truly excellent example of the chair-makers art.
