18th Century Portuguese Carved Walnut Chair with Embossed Leather & Brass Nails
About the Item
Decorate an entry or office with this tall antique Renaissance chair. Crafted in Portugal, circa 1760, the stately chair sits on turned legs over a stretcher decorated with a carved shell motif. It features a wide and deep seat and the tall arched back dressed with brass finials. The chair is dressed with the original embossed leather, with floral and foliage motif, and complemented with large decorative brass nailheads. The large Renaissance style seating is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorns a rich walnut patina, and a beautifully preserved leather upholstery which gives the chair character and beauty.
