About the Item
Armchair Swedish Gustavian 1775-1790 , Sweden. Called the "Swedish model" .An armchair made during the early part of the Gustavian period circa 1775-1790.
Scraped by hand to its well preserved original paint . A rounded open back splat with an urn shaped middle part decorated with a carved oval on top. Beautiful carved flowers on the legs. Curved armrests and a upholstered cushion. Rounded and channeled legs tied together by a rounded foot cross.
Stable in construction.
Good antique condition with minor historic knocks, marks, scratchers, wear, as is to be expected with functional antiques.
