1970s Set of 4 Yrjö Kukkapuro Plaano Dining Arm Chairs for Avarte Blue Fabric
About the Item
This is a set of four Plaano armchairs, designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro for Avarte in the 1970s. The listed price includes the set of four. Their design incorporates a tubular chromed-steel frame with a bent birch back and arms, and these have an upholstered seat and back done in a peacock blue hopsack wool. They were manufactured by the Finnish furniture company Avarte, formerly known as Haimi. To say that these are scarce is an understatement.
Each armchair measures 22 inches deep, 22 inches wide, and 35.5 inches high. They have a seat height of 17 inches. There are some small blemishes on the birch backs, with a few small chips to the edge of veneer. The steel has a light patina, though is still shiny and not cloudy or pitted. The cushions are soft and pliant, providing an ergonomic and comfortable seat. Overall, these chairs are in very good condition with light wear. Please see photos. Genuinely faulty goods will be replaced or money refunded on a case by case basis, however we must be advised of any faulty goods upon receipt of the item. It is the customer's responsibility to pay for return shipping and ship the item back to us. If the item is found to be faulty, we will also refund the postage cost. If there is no damage to the item, but a return is approved, the buyer will be responsible for both the initial and return shipping cost.
