This is an antique elbow chair. An English, mahogany armchair with needlepoint upholstery, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800. Serpentine forms with fine colour and finish Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks show fine grain interest and rich caramel hues Quality needlepoint upholstery with colourful foliate bouquet to the useful drop-in seat Bowed top rail with arched edge cascades into striking, scrolled arms Reeded front apron set between a pair of chamfered shoulders Standing upon superb gadrooned front legs with bun feet Gently splayed rear legs curve gently from the side rails This is an attractive antique elbow chair, with distinguished scrolled arms and beautifully presented. The drop-in seat aids reupholstering to individual taste. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
