About the Item
Antique French Louis XVI Style Armchairs or Bergère Chairs from the 1800’s. Our inhouse Old Plank upholstery department completely stripped the Louis XVI Barrel Back Bergère Chairs to the bare wood frame and carefully rebuilt each of the Louis XVI Chairs. The paint is old and we did not do any enhancing or restoring to the old painted finish. Our Old Plank restorers rather concentrated on structural integrity, while using nothing other than old school materials, such as real Horsehair and Shredded Coco Fibers for padding, with no foam rubber added. The fabric chosen was a high-quality blue/grey velvet adorned with French natural individual nails which required endless hours to install. The Louis XVI Armchairs are not only gorgeous to look at, but are equally comfortable.
