This pair of stylish and unique looking armchairs feature a structure made in iron painted in black. While the design is quite striking, resembling a living organism, it also gives the perception of levity and sophistication making the set a great fit for any kind of environment, from mid century to contemporary and eclectic.
The set has been repainted in black, coated for outdoors and is in great condition.Equally beautiful as comfortable a set like this will be a show stopper for any home. This type of “organic” furniture was in fashion in Latin America during the fifties.

Available now, this Mid-Century Modern armchair set in velvet, Hardwood & Steel designed by Carlo Hauner in the fifties is perfect!
This gorgeous set features a steel structure painted in black and a seat & body backrest in new gray velvet upholstery with three buttons and delicate Brazilian Rosewood (known as Jacaranda) arms.
The restoration of the set took a few months because when I bought it the armchairs didn't have the Jacaranda arms, and every collector knows that the value of a piece is on the integrity of the piece, meaning original pieces and method. Finding Hauner’s wood arms took me to many antique markets until two months after I found the wood arms in a shop specialized in vintage furniture in Rio de Janeiro’s city center. Now the piece is complete!
These armchairs are so awesome that we’ve paired them in the gallery with other pieces and are always spectacular. The first furniture set showcases the armchairs with Scapinelli’s famous Acqua coffee table and Jorge Zalszupin Pullman sofa. The armchairs feature a steel structure with four legs, tall backrest, curved seat and wide armrests with caning finish. Each armchair comes with a stool. The four pieces are sold as a set. The cane and steel are in the original condition and look awesome together.
