A Dutch Folk Art Turners Armchair from Friesland.
Oak- in original dusky red/ pink paint.
Lovely patination.

Top splat with carved floral sprays either side of date “1826” and initials “J G H”

A rare Turner’s open Armchair, with high upright finials and and triple arched cresting incorporating the Name and Date. Probably originally made as a “Love Seat” to commemorate a marriage or special occasion. This example has elaborately turned spindles and a plank seat set into the turned seat rails.
