About the Item

An antique Eastlake side chair. The shield shaped seat is upholstered with a floral needlepoint. Square x carved finials top the crest rail, above a horizontal splat decorated with a burlwood cartouche. The back splat is made with two supports carved with typical Eastlake details connected with a burlwood decorated central panel. Trim arms are carved with scrolls and round turned legs finish in blunt arrow feet, secured with a double box stretcher. Measure: Arm height 25.75".
