French 19th century Empire st. Mahogany and patinated Wood armchairs

About the Item

A handsome and high quality set of four French 19th century Empire style Mahogany and patinated Wood armchairs. Each attractive arm chair is raised on four tapered Mahogany legs. The two rounded front legs are decorated by foliate decorations at the bottom and top while the two squared back legs are slightly curved with a smooth finish. The straight aprons on either side as well as the front apron are decorated by a receded panel with two patinated wood rosettes. Each straight upholstered square arm is decorated with a tall patinated wood carved acanthus leaf bands at its base and a foliate designed hand rest atop. The upholstered backrest is set within a Mahogany frame with carved patinated wood palmettes above both arms, rosettes with hanging laurel vines below, and a scrolling foliate decorated central reserve on the top cross bar.
