French, Empire Provencal Armchair

About the Item

A rare, beautiful, early-19th century Napoleon I, First Empire provencal armchair, a period piece, newly upholstered in the traditional laurel-leaf crown motif fabric and colour of the period. The purity of its lines and the comfortable low seating make this chair a unique addition to a room. The chair back is surmounted by a sculpted star motif in a lozenge, surrounded by bee-shaped fans.
