About the Item
Giorgetti Italian Armchair in Carved Wood & New Teddy Bouclé Upholstery, 1975
Description:
A refined statement piece from the golden era of Italian design, this 1975 armchair by Giorgetti combines sculptural craftsmanship with modern comfort. Meticulously restored and newly reupholstered in luxurious teddy bouclé, it bridges classic form with contemporary warmth.
The solid wood frame showcases elegant turned legs, carved armrests, and distinctive double-slat back detailing—a testament to Giorgetti’s artisanal heritage. The carvings are both decorative and architectural, giving the chair visual depth from every angle. The wood retains its original patina and character, complementing the softness of the updated upholstery.
Professionally reupholstered in premium teddy bouclé, the chair now features thick, plush cushions in a neutral cream tone that adds texture and a sense of casual sophistication. The deep seat and generously padded backrest offer exceptional comfort, making it ideal for reading corners, lounge areas, or curated interiors.
A rare collectible that feels timeless yet fresh, this piece is equally suited to vintage-inspired and contemporary design schemes. Its proportions, materiality, and attention to detail exemplify the lasting appeal of Giorgetti's design language.
