We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely original Victorian heavily carved English Oak armchair with Royal coat of arms / armorial crest This is a very decorative piece, it looks like a throne armchair but is of normal proportions as appose to throne chairs which are huge and wholly unusable in a modern context The chair has ornate carving all over, just look at the very detailed pictured and you will see something interesting from every angle. The upholstery is the original and nicely distressed, it beautifully complements the overall look and aesthetic The coat of arms is a Royal crest although I don't know from why family and era, if some aficionado knows please feel free to educate me We have cleaned waxed and polished the chair from top to bottom, it has normal age and use related patina marks here and there Dimensions: Height 106.5cm Width 65.5cm Depth 68cm Seat height 49cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
