This armchair belongs to Ilmari Lappalainen’s notable ‘Laila’ series, a design celebrated by collectors even during its production era. The ‘Laila’ armchair, designed in 1948, holds a notable place in Finnish design history. The earliest original drawings are preserved in the Lahti City Museum as part of the Lappalainen Collection.
