Italian Pair of Carved-Wood Armchairs with Upholstered Seats, Mid-20th Century
About the Item
An Italian pair of carved wood armchairs with upholstered seats from the mid-20th century. This pair of occasional chairs from Italy have nicely entwined pierced oval-shaped backs, carved star accents adorn the apron at front seat rails, and they are raised nicely upon square legs which taper gently towards their spaded feet. The wooden arms slope down mid-way and terminate just above the seat, which has been newly upholstered in a neutral tan canvas fabric. This pair of midcentury Italian arm chairs, with their soothing neutral palette and entwined oval backs, will make a lovely intimate seating arrangement in a study, bedroom, or living area.
