About the Item

Jugendstil walnut Jugendstil armchair designed by Josef Maria Olbrich 1898-1899 and executed by Michael Niedermoser, Vienna. The beautiful armchair was made out of solid walnut, which was professionally shellac hand-polished. Furthermore the seat and the back were covered with original embossed leather and decorated with nails. So the armchair is in best vintage condition with minor signs of age. Josef Maria Olbrich (1867-1908) was one of the founder members and builder of the Viennese Secession.
