This is a rare vintage equipale chair from Mexico, dating to the 1930s. Entirely handcrafted using traditional techniques, it features a pigskin leather seat and backrest stretched over a cedar or palo dulce wood frame, with interlaced slats forming the base structure. An original hand-painted Mexican folk art scene decorates the chair’s backrest and seat, featuring a traditional folkloric couple dancing and a pack mule.
